The Body Remembers: A Somatic Workshop for Depleted, Devoted Women

  • Light House Yoga 1060 Osgood Street North Andover, MA, 01845 United States (map)

Modern womanhood asks us to be endlessly available - to our children, our partners, our work, our to-do lists - while quietly running on empty. It’s more than “just being tired.”

It’s a female body living in a world not designed for our biological needs - a body that’s has been in survival mode for so long it's forgotten what full aliveness actually feels like.

Somatic nervous system healing helps you resolve experiences that have hijacked your life force, and live from a place of greater self-trust, coherence and aliveness. This workshop combines somatic practices with reflective writing and discussion, to reclaim your vitality, not as an abstract concept, but as something you can actually feel again.

Together we will work with:

  • Somatic embodiment: guided nervous system practices drawn from somatic traditions

  • Reflective writing and discussion: to understand our own nervous system responses, and uncover and heal deeply held beliefs and patterns that keep our vitality constrained

  • Practical tools: simple somatic practices you can return to at home, long after the workshop ends

No prior somatic experience needed - just a willingness to come home to your own body, alongside other women doing the same.

About your host: Courtney LaCava

Courtney LaCava is an Ayurvedic Practitioner, somatic guide, herbalist and nutritionist, educator, and mother to two boys. She helps mothers heal their own bodies and raise healthy, resilient sons within the chaos of our modern world.

With 25 years of experience, Courtney teaches women ancestral practices to nurture, nourish and protect Life through first nourishing their own health and vitality. Through this reclaimed wisdom, mothers of boys learn how to nurture their sons with these values and practices, raising boys to grow into the healthy, embodied men our world needs.

With both bold, piercing insight into the challenges modern mothers face, along with practical, applied wisdom, Courtney bridges the personal and political in helping mothers access the power of their own life force to create the families, communities, and world we want to live in.
